I heard the Hertz ML2500 sub on a few occasions in Ryan's 135i, and it was phenomenal. The sub played extremely low for a 10" and it had a very clean sound. In his car, it was easy to get the sub perfectly balanced with the front stage - completely transparent, but turn it up and crank the dub step. Hit this link for a post showing it mounted in the corner of the trunk.

JL makes fantastic subs as well, and I think you would be happy with their products. Price....well, depends on where you get them.

That's definitely a sick set up. It seems like a lot of amps for that set up, but I'm not an expert.

His set up at the time is like mine. Three 4 channel amps: 1st amp - tweets + sub, 2nd amp - bridged on mid range, 3rd amp - bridged on mid bass drivers. There are many configurations with amps / drivers, but this is what I have settled on to give the power that I want to each driver.

I personally love the hertz subs. I had a pair of the mille line 10s in my car before and they were phenomenal. I put them in to replace two older Rockford fosgate power hx2c subs and they were louder and cleaner than the rfs. I also had a set of hertz Mille component speakers and those were also amazing, just a bit of a pain to install since the crossovers were about 8 inches by a foot

If you buy one of these cars, are you going to upgrade the system?

I guess it depends on how good the stock one it, but I can't imagine that it's going to be very good considering it's a stock system. Personally yes I will. I want an Alpine DVD head unit, Hertz Mids and Highs, Hertz/JL Audio amp and subs.

I'll definately end up doing something, just not sure what exactly yet. I don't want to add weight with a sub but working at a car audio shop will make it damn hard to resist

I will probably just replace the drivers with something from Focal...from what I've read there is enough ambient noise to cancel any positive effects of a whole new system unless you're touring with the engine off. Will know more after my first drive.

When will that first drive be? Were you one of the adventurous / lucky ones who already ordered and will get yours in the next couple months? I am very curious about this ambient noise thing as well and whether there is truth to this 'hose' that supposedly pumps engine noise into the cabin.....and especially if it can be easily defeated. I asked the guy that took one around the block in another thread (he got it up to 3rd gear), but he only replied that he didn't drive it long / fast enough to be able to tell (probably to amped up to think about it).

If I get one of these cars (long story), I will be going all out on the audio (even if it is loud in the cabin) because for get togethers and competitions, I'll have the engine off and connected to a power supply.

quick question.....from your vehicle listing on the left of the screen - just curious as to what wheels you are going to go with on the BRZ if you change them out?

This is on paper just want I want to install, I have this setup in my 1989 R32 GT-R ,but with a single din alpine iDA-X305S - Digital Media Receiver? Which I'm very happy with, so as I'm keeping the Skyline, I'll need to start again.
