How about going over speed bumps or dealing with any steep curbs with your BRZ being lowered? I’ve already run the nose of mine up on top of a high parking chock once and that felt devastating. Luckily there was no harm done.

The spring rates are the same as factory so I don't notice a difference in stiffness, but the car is 1 in. lower and it can be difficult getting into driveways if you are not careful. I scraped my front a little too, but that is something you have to deal with these low cars.

    Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft:

    Original drive shaft - 2 piece - 24 lbs.
CF Drive Shaft with aluminum ends - 1 piece - 12 lbs.

    Stock dyno HP: 172 HP
    w/CF drive shaft: 174 HP

The CF drive shaft fit without any issues, but we shaved down one stud an 1/8th to make sure the clearance was perfect.

Said benefits to having a CF drive shaft: Improved throttle response, more power, lighter weight and can withstand gobs of power.

Driving the car: I can't say that I feel any major difference, but the numbers don't lie and it is awesome to have. Too bad the beautiful piece of carbon is hidden from view.

Thank you to raventare, Power Train Industries and Import Auto Pros!

What part did you have to shave down? Is it pictured?

I wonder what effect putting lighter part that reside below the center of gravity has? In this case, the added strength and lower rotational weight and other benefits should be well worth it.

Here is a picture of the bolt that we shaved down, and it was not touching the CF drive shaft, but it was close enough, that if any flex did occur, we didn't want to risk the drive shaft being shredded.

As far as being below the center of gravity, I don't see an issue. The lighter weight, added strength and lower rotational weight, like you said, out weigh the negatives.
