Subaru BRZ Top Speed

It's a top speed run of a 2013 BRZ Limited. Video was taken by Jason Thorgalsen and he says:

"At the end of May I got a call from the Subaru dealership telling me my 2013 BRZ Limited had arrived and was ready for me to take delivery. After a grueling 1,000 mile break-in period I was looking forward to see what the car was capable of. I shipped the car to the autobahn to do some high speed runs in the car and attempt the top speed. The car is limited by its aerodynamics unfortunately so I had to get a good stretch which favored the car which allowed me to get up to 147 MPH. This isn't very high speed compared to other exotic cars but for a 200HP Subaru I was very impressed seeing what it's capable of on the top speed spectrum! For those of you who don't know this is a rear wheel drive Subaru and the car is fantastic to drive along with drifting "

when I got my car in May, I did some measurements and calculations and came up with a frontal area of about 17.5 feet. Apply the 0.28 Cd and the effective frontal area is a nice low 4.9 sq ft. which works out to an steady aero load of 104 HP at 147 mph. The other 96 crank HP get consumed in parasitic losses and accelerating the last mph etc. For reference the 6th gear portion I timed at 33 secs for the run from 125 to 147 mph. I'd like to see the same run with the foglamps and other non-smooth things covered.

Or with the STi body kit. Isn't with the wing on the car it's 0.27 Cd? What ever the case I thank you again for your endeavors.

Interesting result. I tried twice to see how fast I could get my limited to go and made it to 124mph both times before I ran out of road. First time was in Panamint Valley (south west of Death Valley.) Second time was heading north on hwy 24 in Utah. Both times - speed increases came very slow at about 120 mph - just as in the video at the top of the thread.

Redline - can you find out if Thorgalsen was going down hill when he hit 147?
