a little off topic. but i've seen a few of those car nifty videos and the intro & outro music sounds really familiar. its gonna bother me if i dont figure it out. it sounds like out of a final fantasy game or idk, maybe even a water map in super mario 64

If you haven't seen it, this is one of the best on track videos I've seen so far--not driven by a professional racer--and most interesting, was that it was done with the Limited Automatic, using paddles.



The BRZ Limited automatic handled just as it should. While many of us will tune more power into our BRZs, the thing I noticed most was the need for either stickier and/or wider tires. The BRZ's chassis seemed like it could handle more speed through the turns when the tires were at their limit. Although the driver seemed to have comfortable control over the limits of the BRZ, I think with a little more effort the driver could have shaved off at least another half a second.

They have a group of videos for cars under $30k. Please note that I don't think they're the best drivers, but it does give a good feel for what most of us might be able to run on track ourselves.

The V6 mustang with track-pack was the fastest, as it had at least 100 more HP over the BRZ and had great tires. It handled really well until too much speed/throttle was held through a turn.

Thanks for the video post! Just seems dumb that Subaru would not make sure that AutoWeek of all publications had a manual transmission.
